Car model, as the word describes a different range of similar cars used by a manufacturer in the market. In today’s world, there are many kinds of car models available. It can vary in the car’s size, shape, look, and style. Some models of the vehicle have one engine, and other models have multi machines in the car. The manufacturers can use car models for product range categories into models.
Models have one body style but in some models produced in several body styles. Some of the car models are also sold in different countries by the automaker with other model names.
Different types of car models
There are many different types of car models that are available in the market. So here, I am discussing some of the types of the car model.
- Convertible
Convertible is also a type of car model that allows open-air driving or enclosed driving. The roof structure is fully opened in it. This rooftop is featured in a retractable hardtop roof or soft folding rooftop. Some top has to be lowered by the hand and some folds down. Only the forward section can be removed by hand. Some examples of the convertible are Audi A3 Cabriolet and Mercedes-AMG SLC 43.
- Hatchback
The hatchback is the type of car model in which the rear door is open upward. This type of car easily accessible for the cargo area and have more capable of carrying. There is a two-door hatchback that is so common in the market, and there is also a feature of four-door hatchback. So here is the example of the four-door hatchback is Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. An example of a two-door hatchback is Volkswagen Polo GTI. It contains some larger cars, also like Audi A7.
- Sports utility vehicle (SUV)
Sports utility vehicle (SUV), as the name describes cars built for sports and offers off-roading capabilities. It includes both off-roaders and soft-roaders. These cars are generally two-seaters or have small rear seats. This type of car looking very sportiest, and hottest and vehicles are costly. Examples of off-roader SUV is Mahindra Thar or Mahindra Scorpio. And models of soft-roader SUV is Honda CR-V, Skoda Yeti.
- Coupe
This type of car model has been considered in a two-door car with a concrete roof. It gets only two seats with smaller in size. Now the company has started the manufacturing of four-door cars or crossovers with low. Some examples of coupes are Ford Mustang, Mercedez-Benz GLE Coupe, Audi R8.
- Sedan
It is also a type of car model, it is considered in four doors and with the typical trunk. It is featured with the three-box configuration, each box used for the engine, passenger, and cargo. Some of the examples are Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Elantra.
So these are some different types of car models which are available in the market. Some other car model characteristics are country-specific model names, model years, a trim level, which are taken into consideration while talking about the car models.
